Miranda's Nest

Miranda's Nest is a personal blog authored by Miranda, a 21 year old University of Mauritius student. This blog was started in December 2007 since Miranda "wanted to try the experience after reading blogs by talented people", as she says in her first post.Though posts are sometimes rare on Miranda's blog, she has succeeded in getting some regular readers and recently a Google PR 2, which has tremendously delighted the author.

Miranda usually writes on various subjects and issues. Sometimes she expresses herself on things that have annoyed her or on her love for music and guitars and sometimes she lets her readers discover an aspect of her personality. An example of this is found in the post where she reveals seven weird things about her. A post we have particularly liked is the one where she tries to compel herself to devote some time to her blog. This post is so sincere and well-illustrated that it makes you want to go on a safari and dive in Miranda's dream as well.

Regarding the layout, Miranda's Nest is very minimalist with only the essential sidebar widgets. The blog wears Douglas Bowman's No. 897 blogger layout proudly. The guitar picture in the sidebar adds a pleasant touch to the whole blog, giving Miranda's nest a cozy and personal feel.

On the whole Miranda's Nest is deeply recommended if you want to delve into a world of guitars in the girly way or simply if you wish to know more of Miranda's life which is unique and worth writing about. An advice to the author on our behalf is to keep blogging and let her inspiration take over. We sincerely wish to see a flourishing nest...

Theme 8 starts today, 10th of February. After a long decision-making process, Freedom was chosen as the theme of the week. The week ends on Sunday the 17th of February. We wish all participating members good luck and lots of inspiration for this theme.

Today, we also celebrate the forum's four months anniversary and for that we sincerely thank all members without whom this would not have been possible. It has been four wonderful months of sharing and knowledge.

L'ICEBERG: Il est temps d'ouvrir les YEUX! is the personal blog of Jessica, also known as La Pingouine, who is 23 and is currently working for a daily newspaper.

To review this blog, I had to go through a year of blog posts and I can say that I have a wonderful time. You cannot help but enjoy her posts which are sometimes funny, sometimes witty and factual and sometimes just a retrospective of the author's day at work or out. You might also enjoy the wonderful photographs posted by the author who is a passionate photographer.

One post I particularly recommend is this one where she has posted photos of our lovely island, which she calls "L'ile Momo". Another post I have greatly enjoyed is the one where she reviews her day at a comic book festival held at the Caudan Waterfront. It was really interesting to know the author's opinion on this subject.

Moreover, if you are looking for a blog written in French, Jessica's blog is definitely the place to head over to. This author's style can be compared to great contemporary authors and you will definitely get all your attention caught into Jessica's life as you go through her previous posts and await her forthcoming ones.

As for the template, it suits the spirit of the blog. The predominance of white and light grey in the colour scheme illuminates the whole blog. The sidebar consists of various elements such as for example, a Defi Pour La Terre badge as well as a mybloglog recent viewers widget.

For a better browsing, you could even use the post categories section found in the sidebar. In brief, I really advise you to pay a visit to this blog. It might delight you.

Doing a review is not an easy task; the author should be concise and give relevant details so as to make his/her point clear but at the same time not going too much technical so as to be understood by any audience. Lightprincess and the cruel world...

Lightprincess and the cruel world ... is a blog by Lightprincess, a psychology student at the University of Mauritius. This blog was created in February this year and contains some very interesting posts on various subjects.

On this blog you can read poems written by the author herself and her friends. Readers can also find posts related to matrimony, friendship, love and even sleep and dreams.

This blog has been selected as a coup de coeur as it is full of good humor and some positive thoughts. It is a real pleasure to browse through this blog and read the various posts and musings on the author. We only hope that the author posts more often.

About the layout, it is very fresh and "girly" with a majority of pink in the color scheme. The sidebar elements are simple yet essential.

On the whole we deeply advise a visit to this blog. You might make amazing discoveries.

Adi's Haven

Adi's Haven is a blog by Adhilah, a young Mauritian student who is currently studying in St. Denis, Reunion Island. As the title suggests, this blog is a haven for the author where she writes about her student life and some leisure moments that she has at times. This personal blog was started in July of this year and by reading Adhilah's post one can feel that the author really enjoys blogging and tries her best to update her blog regularly.

I have particularly enjoyed the post entitled Happiness where the author gives her opinion on a particular situation that has touched her.

As for the blog template, it is a pre-made one which I feel suits the blog just right; the purple color and the full moon in the backdrop add a touch of fantasy to the whole blog. The sidebar is quite minimalist but this only draws the attention of readers more towards the content.

On the whole, this blog is true to the spirit of a personal blog and I highly recommend a visit especially if you are Adi's friend or just wish to know about the student life in Reunion Island.

The Growing Pains of a Slightly Bent, not Broken Sunflower

This blog is a personal one and is fascinating in many ways. It's full of life and makes me actually want to quit my "diplomatic style" and give a real review, I mean real. The author, Avi, is a very opiniated girl, and from what we have read, her life must be full of laughter too because she sure gave me some great laugh when I was browsing through her blog. Her posts are captivating and show the real her, without pretences, without restraints. This blog fills all the requirements of an excellent personal blog. It is all about the author, in a sincere and honest way, her days are narrated and the reader gets the feeling of being right there, listening to her talking.

We have particularly appreciated this post where she gave a very original review of MBB. I am sure you will laugh while reading this. Her humour is unique and very sensible. Bring your brains along while reading this blog! And be prepared to encounter some Mauritian and international swear words!

About the layout, it is very feminine, with various hues of pink in the color scheme and some lovely pictures of the author and her fiancé on the sidebar. This blog contains a shoutbox where readers and friends can leave their messages, because, *big scoop* the author is getting married soon! So go ahead and run to this blog to express your wishes and watch out for those humor buttons and warning signs, like the one saying "be gentle on my curves" found in the sidebar.

To conclude, we would like wish Sunflower Avi all the joys of the world and we hope her wedding is a tremendous success. Have fun and keep blogging!
