This blog was started in December 2007 since Miranda "wanted to try the experience after reading blogs by talented people", as she says in her first post.Though posts are sometimes rare on Miranda's blog, she has succeeded in getting some regular readers and recently a Google PR 2, which has tremendously delighted the author.

Miranda usually writes on various subjects and issues. Sometimes she expresses herself on things that have annoyed her or on her love for music and guitars and sometimes she lets her readers discover an aspect of her personality. An example of this is found in the post where she reveals seven weird things about her. A post we have particularly liked is the one where she tries to compel herself to devote some time to her blog. This post is so sincere and well-illustrated that it makes you want to go on a safari and dive in Miranda's dream as well.

Regarding the layout, Miranda's Nest is very minimalist with only the essential sidebar widgets. The blog wears Douglas Bowman's No. 897 blogger layout proudly. The guitar picture in the sidebar adds a pleasant touch to the whole blog, giving Miranda's nest a cozy and personal feel.

On the whole Miranda's Nest is deeply recommended if you want to delve into a world of guitars in the girly way or simply if you wish to know more of Miranda's life which is unique and worth writing about. An advice to the author on our behalf is to keep blogging and let her inspiration take over. We sincerely wish to see a flourishing nest...

MBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01922414106115831471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7265615637243623691.post-80568156973158722482008-03-12T09:23:00.003+04:002008-03-13T07:38:15.175+04:00Happy 40th Independence Day
The Mauritius Blog Brethren, on behalf of all its members wishes everyone a Happy 40th Independence Day.

Some posts from member blogs related to the subject:

Youth, be proud...

The Hymn (not hymen) of the National Anthem - Motherland

Independence Day

40th National Day Celebrations

40 years of Independence...!

Independence Day

Mauritius 40 years of independence: a review

Independence Day, Our way...

Independence Day

I expect we would see some more posts by tonight. For this theme, there was a lot of possible subjects to talk about ranging from personal issues to local and international events of all aspects. So, without further delay, here are the posts in chronological order:

The most promising event in 2008 by Morinn
This is a post of a personal aspect in which the author writes about how her previous birthdays were full of surprises and she expects the 2008 one to be as surprising as the other ones.

MTW #5: Most Promising 2008 Event by Infinity
In this post the author writes about the dream of all Mauritian internet users, that is, having a faster and affordable internet connection. Will it ever be possible on our cyberisland? :D Read the post to find out more...

My Future Guitar by Slasher
Slasher is a guitar player and it was not unexpected at all that the most promising event for him in 2008 would be the acquisition of a new guitar. Moreover, what you might find interesting in this post is that the author has written on several kinds of guitars. You might want to check them out.

Il m'a dit by La Pingouine
In this post the author tell us, with a lot of good humor, the events which she is looking forward the most in 2008. These consist of album releases and the China Town festival in Mauritius! Definitely a must-read...

What to expect of 2008? by Carrotmadman6
Great post as always from the Media Guru. This blogger is known for his extensive research when writing a post and this time too, you will not be disappointed. This post will let you know about almost everything you can expect in 2008 in the field of technology mainly.

Most promising event in 2008 by Anteblog
Antish G.'s post is a little bit ambiguous. It is not a "negative post" as he has the habit of doing and in my opinion it is not the best post of this blogger and as he says it, he does not see any event that looks promising in 2008.

The most promising event in 2008 by Fadilnet
Fadilnet's post talks mainly about the release of KDE 4 and major Linux Distros and the growth of the Open Solaris Community. This post also features some other local and international events which might interest you. You just need to check it out. ;)

Most promising event in 2008 by Miranda
Miranda wishes to win the "rocking girl blogger award" and she feels that this could be the most promising blogging event for her in 2008.

Results by Offbeat_chick
Offbeat_chick is waiting for her S.C results and that would the most promising event for her in 2008. This post is interesting and unique.

The event I am looking forward the most in 2008 by bbZuSh
BbZush will be completing her final year at secondary school this year. You cannot help but enjoy her posts which are sometimes funny, sometimes witty and factual and sometimes just a retrospective of the author's day at work or out. You might also enjoy the wonderful photographs posted by the author who is a passionate photographer.

One post I particularly recommend is this one where she has posted photos of our lovely island, which she calls "L'ile Momo". Another post I have greatly enjoyed is the one where she reviews her day at a comic book festival held at the Caudan Waterfront. It was really interesting to know the author's opinion on this subject.

Moreover, if you are looking for a blog written in French, Jessica's blog is definitely the place to head over to. This author's style can be compared to great contemporary authors and you will definitely get all your attention caught into Jessica's life as you go through her previous posts and await her forthcoming ones.

As for the template, it suits the spirit of the blog. The predominance of white and light grey in the colour scheme illuminates the whole blog. The sidebar consists of various elements such as for example, a Defi Pour La Terre badge as well as a mybloglog recent viewers widget.

For a better browsing, you could even use the post categories section found in the sidebar. In brief, I really advise you to pay a visit to this blog. Some reviews tend to be lengthy while others are short and direct. For this theme, we have seen a great variety of reviews ranging from reviews on personal matters, the review of an operating system, the reviews of blogs to the review of a music album. This blog was created in February this year and contains some very interesting posts on various subjects.

On this blog you can read poems written by the author herself and her friends. It is a real pleasure to browse through this blog and read the various posts and musings on the author. As the title suggests, this blog is a haven for the author where she writes about her student life and some leisure moments that she has at times. This personal blog was started in July of this year and by reading Adhilah's post one can feel that the author really enjoys blogging and tries her best to update her blog regularly.

I have particularly enjoyed the post entitled Happiness where the author gives her opinion on a particular situation that has touched her.

As for the blog template, it is a pre-made one which I feel suits the blog just right; the purple color and the full moon in the backdrop add a touch of fantasy to the whole blog. The sidebar is quite minimalist but this only draws the attention of readers more towards the content.

On the whole, this blog is true to the spirit of a personal blog and I highly recommend a visit especially if you are Adi's friend or just wish to know about the student life in Reunion Island.MBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01922414106115831471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7265615637243623691.post-45904201254773297332007-11-26T10:18:00.001+04:002007-11-26T10:18:37.596+04:00Your votes needed

We would like you to please vote for the Blog of the Month Award and the Post of the Week Award on the following threads:

Post of the Week

Blog of the Month

MBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01922414106115831471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7265615637243623691.post-17574446465605966922007-11-24T11:16:00.001+04:002007-11-25T09:37:10.159+04:00Theme 1 - Online Communities

Participating blogs (in chronological order):

Ode to my Tainted Dreamz

Anti Blog

Infinity's Spot

Something to talk about...

Keep metal!

ηeelesh - Your Instant CafE

If you have participated, don't forget to post your URL on this thread.

Other Theme of the Week badges are available here. The theme for this week is Online Communities.

For more information please read here: Blogging on a Common Theme

MBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01922414106115831471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7265615637243623691.post-3683843470464199182007-11-16T18:23:00.000+04:002007-11-16T18:56:11.357+04:00The Growing Pains of a Slightly Bent, not Broken Sunflower
This blog is a personal one and is fascinating in many ways. It's full of life and makes me actually want to quit my "diplomatic style" and give a real review, I mean real. The author, Avi, is a very opiniated girl, and from what we have read, her life must be full of laughter too because she sure gave me some great laugh when I was browsing through her blog. Her posts are captivating and show the real her, without pretences, without restraints. This blog fills all the requirements of an excellent personal blog. It is all about the author, in a sincere and honest way, her days are narrated and the reader gets the feeling of being right there, listening to her talking.

We have particularly appreciated this post where she gave a very original review of MBB. I am sure you will laugh while reading this. Her humour is unique and very sensible. Bring your brains along while reading this blog! And be prepared to encounter some Mauritian and international swear words!

About the layout, it is very feminine, with various hues of pink in the color scheme and some lovely pictures of the author and her fiancé on the sidebar. This blog contains a shoutbox where readers and friends can leave their messages, because, *big scoop* the author is getting married soon! So go ahead and run to this blog to express your wishes and watch out for those humor buttons and warning signs, like the one saying "be gentle on my curves" found in the sidebar.

To conclude, we would like wish Sunflower Avi all the joys of the world and we hope her wedding is a tremendous success. Have fun and keep blogging!MBBhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01922414106115831471noreply@blogger.com
